Last Drill Practice....

The last drill practice, Thursday we drive 3 hours to Pasco Wa for the Washington state Equestrian teams final meet, all the districts at once. With up to 6 riders per event, all of the winners from this year.

This is Lena, I was able to get a few cool up close shots of her. She is a 3 year old QH mare. Yeah they are riding her in drill as a 3 year old, it wouldnt be my choice, its to much for her young body, but that is my opinion, she is a beautiful little mare, 14.2 typical reiner type.
She had a really pretty bridle on that caught my eye.

Another strange angle LOL

Pow wow time. They didnt have the greatest practice, the coach walked out because the girls werent listening to her. Not a very mature choice. The coach has a lot of drill experience, but not coaching experience, she needs a lot more experience with that. Negativity and walking out does not go very far with teenagers, and does not gain their respect. I dont know if she will be invited back next year to coach.

A cool action shot.

More talking about things.

Parents hanging out watching.

It is hard to believe that it is almost over. Meghan is our last child to do all of this. She may do the 4-H fair again this year, we will see where life's path takes us, but she wants too, things change a lot when you leave High School.
I hope I am able to do this with my grandchildren! someday! LOL

  2. Looks like so much fun! I have to say that is alot for a 3 year old to handle and that is just it. If a young horse can handle all of that, then it will make for a better horse in the long run, mentally speaking.
Enjoy these times with your daughter!

  3. I am sure you will miss all this , but what lucky grandchildren you will have. You are a great Mom to stay so involved and help your girls with all these events!
