Trail ride!!!

I finally got to go on a trail ride with Emma!!! We went to Battle Ground Lake here in SW Washington. After my Farrier friend looked at her and said I should use her.  I am happy happy happy to report, that she didnt take a wrong step for all of our ride!! I am so happy!! Will have to go see if she is as sore as I am this morning though!! LOL
Following Judy and Carol. I forgot to put my memory card in my camera, so I was stuck putting a dozen pics on the hard memory. It is so slow it take awful pics without the fast card. But I got a few!!
Judy and Marry Ann.
Carol had to pee!! LOL LOL  Isnt Emmas mane crazy! LOL It just adds to her character for me. I have thought about roaching it off but I kinda like it, LOL. They are sure shedding out and getting their Winter fuzzys on!!!
 Marry Ann.
Time to get back on! She led Jazzy over to a picnic table and got on. Jaz is so good. There is that crazy mane again! LOL If I band it it looks OK, but that is a lot of work!!!
 Back on.
Judy and Mary Ann. Judy on her Fox Trotter, Rhythm, and Mary Ann on her "garage sale horse" LOL I dont remember the mares name, but dang can that horse walk out!! We were riding four different breeds of horse! Rocky Mtn., Fox Trotter, Appaloosa, and Paint.
We rode for 3 hours, went around the lake 3+ times and some side trails! LOL
I am so happy with Emma. She has only been ridden twice this year, once in May, then she hurt herself. Once in July. She was perfect! So good, I love my little spotted pony!!

Canning, Dahlias and my silly pony

Hubby and I have been canning. Yesterday I picked 101 ears of corn out of our garden and we shucked, blanched and cut it all off of the cob. Last Week I picked 48 ears and we canned the first batch. It turned out good, so we did the rest!!
I am dreading the first freeze. This is my Jokers Wild Dahlia. So far I have only had it produce 3 blooms. Two like this and one with a side white spot.
This is one of my favorites, it also has random dark spots, to just streaks to solid burgundy.
This one is small and delicate.

And my silly pony, she was begging, thinking I was picking something good to eat, or asking for apples.
Pissy look LOL She really wanted apples, I think.
The old mare, she cant eat apples anymore, or cookies, I think they hurt her teeth now. So I will soak some for her with her grain once and awhile. Our pasture is dormant right now. We need a little rain to green it up.
Dont you just love the look. She is waiting patiently!! LOL
She kept talking to me too, not so patiently!
This is my favorite color so far!!
 Dinner plate!!
 Lots of reds!
 Creamy white to yellow center.
 More random streaks.
Someone got impatient, and decided she would pick her own apples. LOL She is getting really good at it this time of year. She grabs the branches and pulls and shakes until she hears one fall.

I think she had already gotten some today and none were falling. I took pitty on her and rolled a couple under the fence. Spoiled brat! LOL
And the Boss and his Helper. (someone asked me which was which, LOL, sometimes thats debatable!!)
We ended up with 47 pints of fresh picked and canned corn!!! Told Hubby we had enough to have one a week! LOL
Its a good feeling to have tilled, planted the seeds and grown it, watered it, weeded it, and finally harvest and preserve it, yourself.

Last trip photos, on the way home

We left Ellensburg around 11Am, and our first stop was a produce stand that my cousin had told us about.
Just about everything you could want!! Squash, tomatos, apples, every kind of pepper you could think of!
Potatos, onions, watermelon! We bought 10lbs of Candy Sweet onions, that were really good!!! and a box of Jalapenos. We canned both of them.
 Pretty bell peppers.
The cashier girl had a little 3 mo. old Chihuahua puppy, she was so cute! and do tiny!!
This is the stand that we stopped at, out in the middle of the pepper fields.
And back on the road up over the pass, and through the Yakima Indian Reservation. More horses!
 A dust devil.
 There were horses everywhere!
Not to bad for going 60mph down the highway!

Descending down into the Pine trees.
Back down to the Columbia River and Mt. Hood, looking West. A big barge is coming up river.
Lots of wind surfers and sail boarders out!
 This is rugged rocky country.
Still very dry and wind blown.
 (through the windshield)

There were a lot of them out on the river!
This is one of the few remnants of the Broughton Flume. It is an old log flume that went for miles and mile at one time. An episode of Lassie was once filmed on the flume.
A few fisherman were out too. It was a very windy day.

Tum Tum Mtn. Almost to Stevenson Wa.
And back into the Fir trees and bush of the West side of the state.
Almost home. It has been really dry here. No rain for 40 some days. We have had a few little showers at the house and one day of a heavy foggy mist. We need rain soon, I am sure it will come soon!
We got home, puppies were glad to see us! Good to be home. We had a fun time visiting!!
