Albany Expo 2012 Post #5 Horses, and mules and donkeys and, more!!

And we headed over to the horse barn.
This is a cute sign!
And a cute little spotted pony.
 Judy and Carol.
Pretty palomino Appaloosa. He is the son of a stud, that my freind I bought Emma from, had. The stud is a few spot Cremello. All of his foals have had gorgeous color!   His sire is absolutely drop dead gorgeous, 16H and built very nice, beautiful straight legs and wonderful disposition. His name is Platinum Cowboy (go here to see him) This guy is Platinum knickers, I didnt like his conformation in person. His webpage has a much better picture of him Platinum Knickers even though the pic is probably his late yearling pic, and he is not mature yet. We will see how he looks as he gets older.
Well, probably because he is eye candy to look at, (until you look close)!! I do love those Appy spots!!
Awe the Frisians! they are so pretty, and all that hair!!!
There was a group of Frisian Vaquero riders These are some of their saddles.

 Pretty cool.
There were a lot of Frisians!
This guy is Paparazzi, another Frisian/Appaloosa cross. (he was out in the arena when we went by his stall.)
This booth won the best decorated in the barn!
 Cute miniature donkeys

This Percheron Mule hitch was a treat! They are both 7 year old Mollys.

The mule hitch, so cool!

This is the Icelandic horse group.

Next post the end of the evening is a Trail Challenge with obstacles, and timed.

Albany Expo 2012 Post #4 Go shopping with me!

OH boy, better than candy and diamonds!!! LOL
I dont have a use for a show saddle but I sure can appreciate a pretty peice of leather and silver!!! The hand was a young girl saying " This one is mine! " LOL LOL
Pretty belts! I will have to get me a new belt, one of these days, but to rhinestones on my butt!! LOL LOL Kinda like that turquoise one in the middle, where the white strips are.!!

Natural, red, brown, or black, they are beautiful!
Lots and lots of bling headstalls too. I prefer quieter tack! LOL
Some of them are quite pretty!
Hair, rhinestones and dots, in every color you can imagine!!
 Lots of jewelry to!
 Rhinestone dog collars!
 Blind tie down holders too.
Just pretty leather with not so much bling. That seat looks cushy!
OH and the jewelry!!! LOL Love this Indian made stuff!!
 This piece was like $600.!!!!!!!!
This booth had some vintage clothing.
This Kiger stud was shaved in the design of the 2012 Expo.
I must have taken awhile!! and he didnt want to stand still out here! I wonder how he stood for his haircut!
 Each side was different.

And we head out to the barn to see horses now!!!

In the spirit of not wanting too long of posts, we will continue again!!

Horse Expo, Albany Or., post 2, Art!!

The shopping at the Expo was great! there are two huge halls of vendors!! Fun fun fun!!
We found this booth that had some Painted Ponies!(the booth had a lot! of other stuff too) One of the artists that makes some of them was in the booth that day. Painted Ponies webpage This talks about the art contest that the artists submit their works to, to be judged and maybe picked to be a Painted Pony.
This artist does the most beautiful work!!!

The Indian ponies are one of my favorites.
This pony is her submission for the new Painted Pony contest. He is gorgeous! The submissions were to honor the Paint horse. I think she did very well!! Love all of the detail on all sides. They have to chose between four different body poses, it explains it all on the website.
It is just stunning in person!! She said there is a couple more days to vote on the submissions! The contest is done April 1st. I hope she does well.
Of course I love the Appaloosa ones too!! Her detail with all the trim and feathers, is exquisite!!!
These are some of her paintings. I did ask her permission to take the photos, she is very sweet, and loved the idea, I told her I have a blog and was going to post her on here. (Maybe she will come see and comment) The T-Shirt I bought with her design on it has a tag that is "Blue Mountain Design Works" I believe this is the company that did the embroidery on the shirts.

The print in the far upper right corner, the bridle and reins are all embellishments. I loved the Appaloosa at the bottom!
 More ponies.
Her art work is absolutely stunning too. Those are real feathers on the horses! I wish I had gotten some more info! But we were in shopping frenzy!! LOL
This is the shirt I bought. With an Appaloosa, of course!
And if I am smart I will read that pink signature....
LOL a little hard to read but her name is, Lynn Bean. Lynn Bean's website Do check out her website, her work is so beautiful!!!! Her wildlife artwork is exquisite also.     I am going to enjoy wearing this!!
Painted Ponies Facebook page They have photos of a lot of the submissions!!!
More to come!!
