  2. I loved volcanoes and lava and stuff like that when I was a little kid, and read about Mount Saint Helens in a book. I remember asking my parents why they didn't go see it, and they told me, "Because we were having you" -- I was born less than a month before the eruption. Looking back on it now, their response was pretty funny because of course that's not why they didn't go -- but as a kid, I bought it, and though my parents missed out on seeing a super cool volcanic eruption in order to bring me into the world. :o)

  4. Wow! Wouldn't it have been something to see? What a rare and priceless experience, even it it was a devestating event in ways.
So, if your 30 miles or so from there (east or west?) then maybe you might be a potential blogger meet up friend? We do occasionally head up I-5, though not as often as we do other roads in that country. I'll have to shoot you a note next time we're coming your way.
I can't imagine sitting in my house adn wathcing that go on out my front windows. Wern't your parents nervous?
