Kittitas County Fair and Ellensburg Rodeo

Just a small part of the rodeo, as we didnt stay and watch it.

We got to the Kittitas County Fairgrounds just in time to watch Luke show his hog.

Here he is in front of the judge. The little stink won grand champion showman for Intermediates!! He did a great job!!!
The day before he had gotten grand champion market hog too! Here is his stall at the fair.
 His stall card.

After the show the guys wanted to go have a beer in the beer garden. Four tickets for $4, the price of a beer. Water was two for one ticket! Thats what I was drinking.
Then we were back at the show ring! As Mr. Luke, winning grand, had to go back for pictures for the Ellensburg paper!

He was a very happy boy!!!

Here he is with Mom and Dad.
And the whole group of winning hog showman.
Then I had one of these!! Deep fried curly potato! the whole potato! I had cheese put on it, and it was very good!!
 Horse barn.
Horses and people waiting for the open horse show.

 A nice herd of Boers.
I got to watch a few minutes of the Slack roping, for the Ellensburg Rodeo. I managed to catch Russell Cardoza!!! from the TV Series Stompin Grounds!  Which is about a NW family from Terrebone Oregon. They follow them on the rodeo circuit. Russell was the Worlds Greatest Roper in 2010. He missed his calf this round. I really enjoyed the TV show on Comcast Sports net.
Oh and a few eye candy pics!! LOL
Cowboys and horses!

The Rodeo and fair run at the same time.
We were having fun!!! More stuff to come!!

  1. Wow thanks for taking me on your fair trip with you!
I loved it and it brought back some very fond memories of me and my boys in 4H, showing chickens and horses.
    What fun.

  2. Congrats to the pig wrangler!! He looks so proud. I was sad that there were never kids showing animals when I was at the state fair this year. I can't wait until next summer when fair season starts up again!!
