Sunday stills, Pets....

Sunday stills this week is a year anniversary for Ed doing this theme blog, I have only been doing it for a couple of months, but have enjoyed it. Here is to another year Ed! and many more!
This is Teddy, our oldest dog, he is a Chihuahua/Schiperke mix, Teddy turned 15 years old this Dec.

This is Jessie she turned 9 in Nov. She is a great dog, gentle yet protective and a good companion, I love Golden Retrievers.

Horses are pets for a lot of people now days, here is Mickey, Emma and Easy. I cant believe they are getting as old as they are, Mickey will be 21 in the new year, Emma will be 10, and Easy will be 25 years old! We have had them a long time, Mickey since she was 2, Emma since she was 2,  and Easy since she was 4.

Do the fish count as pets too, LOL we have 15-20 goldfish out in the pond too, some are 12 inches or so long!

I cant forget Meghan and her cat, Amber, the cat is going on 12 years old now. We only have one cat because she would run any others off, she fights with other cats all the time, she is quite the scrapper. She loves to come in the house and cuddle though.

And finally our pets that actually work and do something for a living! Luxor, who has gone to live with a blind person and is guiding her and doing a good job she says! and Dublin who is hopefully a future Guide Dog. These are pets with a purpose that are going to make someones life more independant, and also be a much loved pet. After a Guide Dog retires they can go back to the family that raised them or be placed somewhere else, these are dogs that are taken care of for all of their lives, and much loved for the work that they do.

What would we do without our pets? they enrich our lives and give us so much.
That about covers all of the pets we have now, we have had a pot bellied pig, a pygmy goat, guinea pigs, rabbits, all when the kids were young, not to mention a few other dogs and cats that have crossed the rainbow bridge.

It must be so gratifying to see one of your dogs growing into a new family and fulfilling a purposeful life.

  7. Love that shot of Meghan and Amber, she looks a lot like my cat. It is so great that you have had your horses nearly their whole lives. I hope to be able to do that with the horse I have now.

  9. Reading the ages of your pets shows how obvious it how well taken care of and precious all your pets are to you. They all look very content and happy to live there with you. Your horses are gorgeous. And Jessie looks like a real friend. And Jessie made me laugh. Looks like he's wearing a fancy headdress or something. What a cutie. :)

  10. LOL yeah Teddy is a fuzzball, I call him featherhead LOL.

Linda I didnt know yellow tiger females were rare. I picked Amber for Meghan when Meg was about 7 years old, two cats were dumped at the local Dairy a mile away and they asked us if we wanted one, well there was a pretty grey calico, and Amber, I picked up the Calico and she promptly scratched me in the face, not the cat for a little girl, Amber on the other hand is a ragdoll type, she has always beeh realy sweet. It was a good choice.
