Teddy, for 15 years you ave been my sidekick, camping buddy, slept in the foot of my sleeping bag, knocked over the water container to tell us its empty, barked at us to tell us you want something, barked when you wanted out or in. Taken off where we couldnt find you, only to come back an hour later and bark at the door. You loved spots in the warm sun and your cookies when you came inside.
We let Teddy cross the Rainbow bridge today, he will be missed.
SO sorry to hear it was time . Teddy was such an adorable little fellow. Hugs to you, caring enough to let them go is the hardest part . Hugs again

Thank you everyone, for all the nice sentiments, it is hard to lose them, especially after so long. I will miss the little bugger, but I know he is not suffering anymore.
ReplyDeleteThe vet office was wonderful, empathic, they were very concerned for our feelings. In the end I couldnt stay with him, to much emotion, I want to remember him alive. Meghan went with me so I wasnt by myself.
One chapter ends and we have to figure out how to write another.
Thank you all again.

I'm sorry for your loss of Teddy, Pam. It sounds like he had a happy life with your family.
ReplyDeleteThank you again, you all are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLisa, through tears I inasvertantly deleted your post, please know it is much appreciated! thank you!
They are not pets, they are family members who steal our hearts and never let go. No amount of time passing can ever dim the love we have felt for them, but it does ease the stinging loss.
ReplyDeleteWhen animals are brought into loving homes like yours (and mine) I always liken it to winning the four-legged lottery.
Awww - that's a nice tribute. : )
ReplyDelete- The Equestrian Vagabond
Sorry for your loss. I lost my three Basnejis, Lady, George and Iceman at the ages of 14, 15 and 16. It's not easy to loose those loveable little members of the family.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry. They become part of our families story when they are with us so long. I just wish their lifespans were longer.
