Cabellas! Lacey, Washington!

Wow! This is an incredible retail extravaganza! LOL LOL

This place is huge!! I have been in Malls that arent this big! LOL LOL

OK so arrest me! LOL I took a photo in the bathroom!! LOL LOL But I loved this tilework, really cool!

That was my first stop after our 2 hour drive North.

There is a full size airplane! A Hunters meca!! and Fishermans too, and outdoor BBQing and and and and....oh boy, can you tell its our first trip to this kind of store!

We bought one of these for the truck, the old one was worn out! And this was pretty cool!!

Looked through the forest of fishing poles, of every size shape and color you can think of! Reels to, found one I really liked a Pflueger, it was $99. LOL I didnt come home with it LOL

I wanted this canoe on the wall, he hehe....

We went in the Bargin Cave! Lots of stuff.

In the whole center of this building, is a man made mountain, covered with taxadermied mounts of just about all North American animals!

I was most impressed by this Sea lion mount! Wow is he huge!!!!

A wolverine. We seen one of these once when we where up in the mtns hunting, we didnt know what it was at the time, it was darker, no cream stripe, but the color varies, couldnt have been anything else!

It must have taken months to set all these mounts, a lot of them are donated, even some were from the Smithsonian. Here is a Wolf and a Black Bear and the Dall sheep and Mtn Goat in the background.

In the center of this man made Mtn, is two giant aquariums, one with warm freshwater fish, like this Tiger Muskie, and one with cold freshwater fish.

I believe this is a grass carp.

A BIG ol ugly Catfish.

A Salmon. The warm water fish were all in good shape, the cold water ones are a lot more active, so they had scars and lumps from running into the glass. There were Steelhead, and Rainbows and a Sturgeon too.

Here is an entrance to the aquarium cave. Thats the cold water fish in the background, there is a lot of fish in these tanks.

Here is the Sea lion again, with people in the pic, so you can see how BIG he is!

OK, now this BBQ even made me drool, OMG look at the detail!

Wow the knobs are the end of an ammo shell, the handle is an antler, and the etching on the top! Wow!
It is only like $4000. I will take two! LOL LOL

Geez the place is just gorgeous eye candy!

Then we headed upstairs, there is a glass elevator!

Missing....

Well, it has been three days, and no sign of Amber. She is a beautiful sweet cat, if she doesnt come back, she will be missed. Amber has always been an outside cat, a tough little fighter that kept all the neighbor cats and racoons ran off. Meghan heard her fight with something Monday night. Could have been a racoon or possum, that maybe got her. She hasnt been seen since. Amber is 12 years old, she has been with us as long as we have been in this house. She would great me when I would go out and feed the horses, and follow me back and forth to the barn, and when I took Dublin out to potty she would come say hi to us. I will miss that.

Its been a bad year for pets, for us. Losing Teddy in Feb., Jessie in April and now Amber. Sigh....
Maybe she has joined Deets on a long walkabout....

Funday at Guide Dogs, Post #2

A continuation of or day.

One of the instructors at GDB has these cute minis that she brought for the OK Corral, LOL. They are cute, love the liver chestnut with the spotted back and butt!

Behind these minis is the fenced area where we will meet Dublins siblings.

After seeing the little horses, we proceeded to this event, I got to be blind folded and led by and instructor, that pretended to be Juno, the dog. It was a really interesting experience, she used all the commands and harness feelings that a dog would give a blind person, some of them really subtle, and some not so subtle, LOL.

Here is someone else being guided through the obstacle course. I dont know why I didnt give my Hubby my camera to take pics of me going through, but I forgot. It was a pretty cute obstacle course with the saddles on stands, and hay bales, etc., keeping with the western theme.

Some more of the kennels from the outside. At this point we had to hustle back up to the outdoor theater to attend a training talk. Then we headed back down to meet the siblings.

We met this little cutie, miss Saffron, on a little side trek to potty Dublin.

She is a Golden Retriever/Labrador cross. They seem to be having this cross a lot here lately. Her raiser wanted us to pet her because she has been getting to excited, she was pretty good.

Dublin and Hubby taking a little break, we were doing a lot of walking, and its all up and down hill here!

We seen this little guy in his Cowboy suit LOL.

And we ran into Deanna and Pueblo again LOL Pueblo was being a ragdoll puppy LOL, Look at those ears!! He is the cutest puppy, and when he chews on his bone, he growls and complains at it LOL LOL

Dublin, looking handsome. We found some of the chest plates! Finally. They were $7, I have been wanting one for awhile. They make it easier for the public to see what kind of dog is there.

And finally we made it down to meet all the siblings! There were 5 of 8 of them at funday! So cool

Left to right, Dublin, who wouldnt sit in the grass, Deanna, Doug, Dexie, and Denver. The ones missing are Dakota, Dynasty, and Dyson. Poor little Dexie had more mouth problems than Dublin. She has a severely undershot jaw. Her lower baby canines were pulled, then the adult teeth were ground off and caps put on to try to get them to turn out, they were going into the roof of her mouth. GDB put over $1000. in dental work into this little girl! They care very much about every single dog, and do not spare any expense! She is better, as much as vet care can straighten out a genetic problem.

Doug and Denver have the similar laid back personality as Dublin, and so is Dexie, Deanna is a little higher energy.

This turned out blurry, I took several but the camera didnt like it for some reason LOL. This is a life size wire dog, it has the kind of harness on it that the blind use. Some of the newer ones even have a handle that is angled to the right at the hold, to make it more ergonomic.

Our puppy club has been putting together these wonderful baskets for the silent auction.

This first on is a Movie basket.

This one is a Dog Walkers, basket.

And a Dog bed, basket, the bed donated by Woodin You. I would love to have one of these beds for our own dogs. Dublin approves!! LOL It sounds like they did well at the auction! Wont find out until our Sept. business meeting.

This is Sol, he is about the same age as Luxor. Sol was career changed and stayed with his raiser. We puppysat him one time, and he was pretty good then. He had some issues they couldnt resolve, so he was career changed.

This is one of the walls in the gift shop. I finally got my Guide Dogs sweatshirt, dark brown, full zip hoody.

This little booth next to ours, is another local club, just 25 miles East of us in Stevenson, Wa.

We had a good time and it was a full morning!!

Monday we drove North, to the Cabellas store in Lacy, WA. Pictures to come!!

Guide Dogs for the Blind, Oregon Funday!!! 2010, Post #1.....

Saturday we were up early and left the house at 7:15am, the Guide Dogs Campus is about 45 min. away for us. A stop at Starbucks for Hubbys coffee and my Chai and Greek yogurt, and off we went. The bridge had two lanes closed so we had to go down a street farther north to get to the southbound highway. Traffic was not bad at 7:45am. We made it to Guide Dogs campus at right about 8:30am. The theme this year was Boo"t Scootin Bow Wow" So you will see a lot of folks, and dogs, dressed up western. When we got out of the truck we met up with Pueblo, and his raiser, he is one of the new puppies in our club, and a little sweetie.

 I had an extra bandanna that I gave Pueblo, so he could be stylin too! LOL He is still so little it was so big on him! Dublins fit perfect.

The registration table, we picked up goodies, coupons and stickers and the program book.

Some of the booths that were there. Clubs get to set up and sell stuff as fundraisers. Woodin You, came down for the club this year and set up the booth and will donate a part of the proceeds to the club.

And the booth closer up. Amy and her husband do a beautiful job, they have a really nice booth! They also set up and do the Farmers market in Vancouver.

Amy did these special little stuffed pups with personalized tags, she did one for Dublin!

Behind me in those pics are these kennels, wow are they fancy! I will say again, these dogs are treated like royalty. They do not want for anything their whole lives!

Here is the inside of one of those kennels that was being used. food dish, toys, bed, and the door to the outside run. A very nice place!

A couple of dogs in training that were out to greet people and one of the trainers, this is at the back of the kennels.

We were able to look up Dublins parents in the breeders info booth. This is his sire, Bingham.

And Dublins Dam, Parkay. She is retired now from breeding and probably living with the people she will be with for the rest of her life. She has a really cute face. I think Dublin looks more like her, he has the same dark eye liner.

After that we went to the opening ceremonies. The folks at the table are a lot of the people in our club.

There was a blind gentleman, with his second guide dog, Will. He gave a wonderful speech, and was very funny. I can remember dog names, but not people LOL.

Here is Will, waiting patiently. He is a beautiful Golden Retriever.
