Sunday stills, Mechanical transportation....

A big van full of puppies!

With cute puppies plastered all over the side! The picture is different on either side.

Its big and full of little bundles of joy!

My contribution to Sunday stills, I didnt think I could find something other than our vehicles or other mundane transport. But todays post is fairly unique, I dont thing too many other people will have a picture of a puppy delivery truck!

Dublin, part 2 of 3....

They got Josh. A dark yellow pup.

Meet Josh. I am sure I will be having pictures of these three pups up as they grow.

This is Catry, as her card says, she is destined to be evaluated for career change, sometime the pups just stress to much or have physical/medical problems, so they are career changed, Catry was going to Ellensberg with that crew I believe, to where our club advisor lives, along with another older pup. They dogs never never lack for homes, they are always placed carefully if they dont work out as a guide, and again after they retire as a guide, if their person desires.
These dogs are worked with and reevaluated several times before they adopt them out, so they are given every chance to succeed!

I think this is Doug, LOL Doug the dog, cute!

And finally! We get called, they called Meghans name, which was strange, because I filled out all the paperwork, although all three of us are on the application, I think Megs name is first when we are listed.

Dublin, part 1 of 3....

Here we are at GDB, in Boring, Oregon.

We were told the puppy truck would be arriving around 12-1:00PM. The truck comes up from the breeding campus in San Rafael, Calif. They take two days to make the trip with the little puppies.

Is that it? No, we went inside and used the restroom and talked to some of the trainers. The new schedule for the truck was 2-2:30, oh man we had a couple of hours to kill

A lot of vans came in and out. We decided to go have lunch, went to Burger King in Gresham, Or.

We are back at the Boring campus, still no truck. Finally it showed up at 2:30pm!

Here it comes! Everyone was so excited!

How could you miss it with all those cute puppies on the side.

There were about 15 people waiting for the truck, including a group from Ellensburg, Wa. that were driving back that night with nine! puppies, for their 4-H group in Ellensburg to raise. They had a long drive back home. I should have gotten a picture of their pickup, they had 3-4 kennels in there to put puppies in for the rest of their trip. In the puppy truck they are 2-3 puppies per kennel, so they are used to it.

The driver gets off the truck and asks if we are waiting for puppies! LOL

One of the coordinators from GDB came out and talked with the driver.

We waited some more.

Then the Coordinator wanted the driver to move the truck down to the next patch of grass. Maybe there was more room or something. I dont know. More waiting!!!

He said he wasnt good at backing that big van, LOL, it took him a couple tries, and more waiting for us!!!!!

Finally the door opens!! Arent all those puppies on the side cute!!! I want a cute one!

The first puppy out, her name is Tiva, we all thought that was a cool name.

You get a bag with a years supply of Heartgaurd, Frontline, ear cleaning supplies, and all the paperwork with information about the puppy, like the whelp date, name etc, also a small bag of Science Diet puppy food. The GDB puppies all eat exclusively Science Diet, they help sponcer GDB. There is a story about the first guide dog on the Science Diet bag.

And thats Tiva she is cute! When will he call our name????

College tour

Meghan and I went over to see the new building on the east side of the county for the College.
It was open house day and everyone got goodie bags and t-shirts, lots of coupons for the local restaurants.


Lots of people too! This building is huge! Four stories and all brand spankin new!

The door into the incredible kitchen classroom. Meghan eventually wants to take the Collages culinary program, but she has to get her prerequisites out of the way first.

This kitchen is incredible, and there were a lot of people in there too!

Isnt this just to die for! The granite counter top was huge! with room for stools all around the outside. It is just so homey, really cool! The building isnt done yet, we couldnt go to the fourth floor, classes dont start until the end of the month.

There was a local cable TV channel there for the grand opening too. I was a fun tour and we got to see where her classes are going to be. The views from all the rooms were wonderful, lots of big windows and vistas, each floor had a different lay out, it didnt feel like a school at all. I didnt get a picture of the outside, but it is all red brick.

Macro Monday....

Easy, wanting her dinner. Horses really can have much expression in their faces, if you pay attention.

I posted one of these before, they are so pretty, one is lacy one more solid, I think the second one is an older bloom. Again these are the blooms of a Birdhouse Gourd.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend! We stayed home, so I dont have any exciting new pictures to post.

Sunday stills, Rule of Thirds....

The rule thirds, I had to do some research to find out about this rule. The basic rule is to break the image down into thirds, horizontally and vertically, (or diagonally) this makes a grid that gives you four different places to put the subject of your photo. OK I think I can do this. I didnt have an opportunity to take a lot of new pictures, so I went through my recent ones to find if I have done this at all. I also learned that my camera has a setting that shows the grid. Here is what I found.

The flowers are centered in the upper left quadrant.

This one was hard, almost halfs, instead of thirds, the deck, Luxor, and the foreground, horizontal composition.

This one goes diagonally, the puppy, and the older dog smelling him. This one I tried to take using the rule, easier said than done.

I like this one with the rule, the sky the mtn and the sunflowers, with the added interest of the ride on the side.

And my last contribution, the bay horse, Mickey, would be about in the upper left quadrant, both of them in the upper third.

I learned a lot and a new way of looking at photos as compositions, I try some of this sometimes, but I never knew what it was called. Thanks for looking, I hope I interpreted this one right!
